The Backstory

Fam....I've lived most of my life living beneath my potential. Knowing there's more in me....but being afraid to access and actualize it. As I've grown into my sense of self, I've become more and more uncomfortably acquainted with my ISH. My defense mechanisms....my insecurities....my vulnerabilities. Over time, I've been able to see ways in which I put up walls and wore a mask. Never with ill intent....ALWAYS from a place of self protection. Real talk...there's a heaviness that comes with hiding.

Even as a good dude, when you carry the weight of living beneath what GOD has in store for you it can lead you to being burnt out and disconnected. I was lost inside my own head. One night....in the midnight hour...GOD spoke to me and said I need you to do something for men. Really....GOD? Yes Really. So I was obedient and MOVED. I started the King Me Intensives online...and men started changing forreal. I was challenged to rise up. And I DID. That challenge led me to change. But even then, I knew the screen was a wall. So we went deeper. We took it LIVE, out in the Smoky Mountains. No hiding. No faking. I watched men drop their masks and step into real brotherhood. Waddup Fam...my name is Ayize Ma'at (i- yee-zay ma -aught). It may not be the easiest name to pronounce, but YOU CAN DO IT 😉.  As a trained therapist and relationship coach I've impacted thousands of individuals and couples in their lives and relationships. I don't just talk about relationships....I live it...and my wife and I have a thriving community. I've been featured on OWN, TV ONE, Essence, The AFRO, Black Love, The CW Network, etc. 

While that's all gravy....my biggest accomplishment is my marriage of 23 years and my 5 incredible children. Actually 4 of them ain't children no more...and I'm blessed.

  • What’s the nearest airport? McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) in Alcoa, Tennessee. About an hour from Gatlinburg.

  • Will I have my own room? Rooms are assigned in the order you register. Some rooms are private, some are shared.

  • Can I room with someone I know? Yes, as long as space allows. Just tell us after you register.

  • What are the food options? Breakfast is provided. The cabin has a full kitchen, and there are grocery stores and restaurants nearby, plus delivery.

  • Will there be physical activities? There are options to explore and get outside. Nothing is forced.
